The holidays are here, friends, and that means it’s time to start thinking about the menu for your upcoming feasts. You may be wondering how to make a stuffing that everyone can enjoy. Luckily, gluten-free bread is actually kind of ideal for stuffing and we’re sure you’ll agree.

Use your favorite gluten-free bread as the base for your stuffing or you can make your own using gluten-free flour. Cube the bread and toast it in the oven until it’s crispy. Then, sauté your onions, celery, and any other vegetables you like in olive oil until they’re soft. Add in some herbs and spices, such as sage and thyme, and toss everything together with the toasted bread cubes. You can also add in some cooked sausage or bacon if you like. Pour in some chicken or vegetable broth until everything is moistened, and then bake the stuffing in the oven until it’s golden brown.

Another option is to use gluten-free grains as the base for your stuffing. Quinoa, rice, and millet are all great options that will add a nutty flavor and interesting texture to your stuffing. Cook the grains according to the package instructions, and then mix them with sautéed vegetables, herbs, and broth of your choice. You can also add in nuts, dried fruit, or cooked chicken, turkey, or tofu for extra flavor and substance. For a faster option look for a GFCO certified stuffing here.

No matter which gluten-free stuffing recipe you choose, be sure to taste and adjust the seasoning as you go. With a little creativity, you can make a stuffing that’s just as delicious or more so, than the gluten-filled version.

And please remember to make your stuffing outside of the turkey for food safety purposes, and don’t eat a turkey that was stuffed with gluten-containing stuffing! Most of all, we hope you enjoy. Happy cooking everyone!
