AUBURN, Wash. (May 11, 2022)—The Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG), one of the largest nonprofit gluten-free advocacy organizations, announces that two well-known influencers in the gluten-free community will be speaking at the 2022 Generation GF Teen Summit being held June 30-July 1 at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Copia in Napa, California. Jules Shepard, CEO and founder of gfJules, a major U.S. gluten-free flour and baking mixes company, and Erica Dermer, a digestive health expert, blogger and influencer who runs the Celiac and the Beast blog, will join the event’s educational sessions for campers and families.
Shepard, a celiac disease patient diagnosed in 1999, has written three award-winning books and is a champion for the gluten-free food labeling movement. Her educating and lobbying efforts helped her garner the first ever “Gluten Free Person of the Decade” award.
Dermer, diagnosed with celiac disease in 2009, is known for her work covering trade shows and conferences, searching for the best gluten-free products and celiac disease research. She has served as a patient advocate for digestive health conferences like Digestive Disease Week and the American Gastroenterological Association James W. Freston Conference.
