Position Summary:

The GFCO Quality Control Manager oversees the implementation of the GFCO Standard by GFCO’s clients, and manages the GFCO auditing corps. They review audits of GFCO facilities and determine the appropriate level of testing for each facility. This position is the front line for communication with the quality control staff at GFCO approved manufacturing plants, representing GIG and troubleshooting as necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Determine Auditor performance and competence criteria (GFCO-specific).
  • Provide assistance as needed in Auditor training material and schedule development (GFCO-specific).
  • Administer Auditor training according to the schedule approved by GIG (GFCO-specific).
  • Manage GFCO contract auditors.
  • Recruit, interview and hire new GFCO contract auditors.
  • Primary for performing audit shadows for initial approval of GFCO contract auditors and a maximum of 3 auditors per outside Auditing Body (AB).
  • Primary for audit shadows as part of regular auditor performance evaluations (GFCO only).
  • Primary for evaluating performance of GFCO auditors according to the criteria and schedule approved by GIG.
  • Issue final approval forms for GFCO contract auditors.
  • Approve audit waivers.
  • Primary for reviewing audit reports and assigning non-conformances.
  • Primary for reviewing and approving corrective actions from plants in response to audit non-conformances to the GFCO Standards.
  • Primary for assigning testing requirements to plants.
  • Primary for making certification recommendations.
  • Primary for maintaining list of approved GFCO auditors.
  • Compile information for Management Review meetings.
  • Participate in appeals reviews as requested.
  • Attend trade shows as requested.
  • Management may assign other duties.

Position Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • 4-year degree with a preference of specialty in Food Sciences required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of Quality experience in the food industry required (Quality Management, Quality Control, Auditing, etc.)
  • 2-5 years previous work experience in the food manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Previous work experience with customer service is beneficial.
  • Management experience preferred.

  • Creative input into new and ongoing GIG Cares efforts

Position Summary:

The GFCO Data Processor reviews and inputs data into the GIG Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and the GFCO Structured Query Language (SQL) database and pulls reports and information from these databases.

  • Create new certification database entries.
  • Edit certification database information.
  • Create and edit Accounts, Audit Sites, and Contacts in the GIG CRM system.
  • Create and file information sheets for GFCO audits using the GFCO database.
  • Associate new audit site locations to a grouping in the CRM system.
  • Add/Update plant registration information in the GFCO databases.
  • Add/Update information in the public plant registration and certified product lists.
  • Review and file quarterly testing submissions.
  • Review for completeness and file audit reports (report accepted).
  • Review the Certification Process Checklists for completion and generate Certification Contracts.
  • Communicate with the auditor for reasons the audit report is incomplete (report not accepted).
  • Assist the audit coordinator with data entry, as needed.
  • Input transaction sheet data into the GFCO databases.
  • Participate in Appeal reviews.
  • Attend trade shows, as needed.

Position Summary:

The Brand Marketing Specialist will support the Gluten Intolerance Group’s GFCO program, which operates in the consumer package goods (CPG) industry. Reporting to the organization’s Marketing Manager and working with cross-functional teams, the Brand Marketing Specialist will play a vital role in developing and implementing marketing initiatives that enhance the GFCO program’s positioning for both our business to business and business to customer target audiences. The Brand Marketing Specialist’s efforts will not only drive customer engagement but also will further define our program’s reputation and image. Importantly, the Brand Marketing Specialist will work directly with clients to support their efforts and achieve organizational objectives through development and sponsorship initiatives.

  • Develop in-depth understanding and expertise in the brand category and the business environment where our brand competes.
  • Independently work to improve our brand position.
  • Assist in the development, tactical execution, and analysis of engaging, integrated marketing plans and activities that achieve marketing, program, and organizational objectives for GFCO.
  • Identify trends and insights in industry and evaluate consumer and market research, provide recommendations based on findings.
  • Analyze program and competitive data on an ongoing basis and identify the program’s brand positioning and growth opportunities.
  • Execute specific marketing activities (e.g., consumer and trade promotion activities, sampling, public relations programs, direct marketing, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to design and implement sales material and supporting collateral.
  • Collaborate with Social Media Associate to manage content calendar and help develop content that aligns marketing initiatives and communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party agencies to create and execute promotions, artwork/packaging, advertising, and public relations programs.
  • Analyze website content analytics and develop Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) Strategies to drive traffic.
  • Provide recommendations for improved user-experience efforts for clients.

The Customer Service Representative is the first line and primary contact for all certifying companies. They are the face of the program, attending trade shows, as requested, and otherwise representing GIG to the companies, as well as the companies that we certify to the food safety team and GIG.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in customer service or sales
  • Previous work experience in data processing preferred.
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Previous work experience in nonprofit social programs beneficial.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and in a timely manner using – professional business voice, electronic and other methods of communication.
  • Must be able to work at a steady pace.
  • Must be able to multi-task, sit or stand for up to 4 hours a day.
  • Must work effectively with others – professional, clients, and public.

Education/Experience:
